Trade union activists of the State Archives of Grodno Region took part in a two-day seminar of the Grodno regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions

The trade-union activists of the State Archives of Grodno Region took part in a two-day seminar-meeting of the Grodno regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions, which was held on April 6-7, 2022 in the Sanatorium “Neman-72”. The seminar was devoted to the activities of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions in modern conditions. The seminar discussed the issues of compliance with labour protection legislation in organizations, the procedure for conclusion of the collective staff agreement, its content and control over compliance, organizational work in the primary trade union organizations, the principles and conditions of using social networks, the role of Internet resources in organizing the work of trade unions, etc.

The seminar also discussed amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and the norms of legal regulation of the most important social relations. The participants shared their work experience, defined the tasks to strength the trade union ranks, increase its authority, establish close cooperation with the employer and local authorities, and received answers to their questions from Elena Beresneva, Chair of the Grodno regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The lecturers were Alexei Dobriyan, head of the organization department, Alexandra Sidun, chief legal inspector of labor and Irina Zagorskaya, chief accountant.

The activists of primary trade union organizations also had a tour to the Grishuk Arsenal gallery of cold steel arms. While visiting the gallery they got acquainted with a collection of medals of the 19th-20th centuries, swords, sabers, cleavers and bayonets from different countries of the world, as well as the stand with the originals of gold Olympic medals of double Olympic champion in weightlifting, the strongest man of the planet, a native of Grodno – Alexander Kurlovich.
