The Exhibition Center “BelExpo” hosted a presentation of the book “They were the First. Deputies of the BSSR Supreme Council of the First Convocation” from the series “Belarus Remembers. In the Name of Life and Peace”

On 24 March 2022, the Exhibition Center “BelExpo” as part of the XXIХ Minsk International Book Fair hosted a presentation of the book “They were the First. Deputies of the BSSR Supreme Council of the First Convocation” from the series “Belarus Remembers. In the Name of Life and Peace”.

The book was prepared by the publishing house “Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka” together with the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and is timed to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The publication is dedicated to the deputies to the BSSR Supreme Council who defended the country from the first days of the war and gave their lives for it.

A significant part of the documents in the book are available from the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus.

The event was attended by Viktor Kurash, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, and Andrei Demyanyuk, Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus.
