A republican seminar of the Cadet Search Association “Search activities as an effective means of patriotic education of students” at the Gomel Cadet School
On March 17, 2022, the Gomel Cadet School, as part of the republican seminar of the Cadet Search Association “Search activities as an effective means of patriotic education of students”, held a conference aimed to present the forms and methods of search activities in patriotic education of students as well as cooperation with the state bodies, archives and public organizations of Gomel region.
The conference was attended by representatives of the prosecutor’s offices of Gomel region (prosecutor Viktor Morozov), Gomel district (deputy prosecutor Alexander Shinkarev), the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus (investigator of Gomel district department of the Investigative Committee Mikhail Barynin), directors of state archives in Gomel region (Andrey Sushchevich and Natalya Abramova), chairman of the Belarusian Union of Suvorovites and Cadets Sergey Zhitikhin, etc.
The heads of archival institutions in their speeches to the participants told about the events held today by the region’s archives as part of the Year of Historical Memory. Natalia Abramova dwelled separately on the heroic feat of those who defended Gomel in the People’s Militia during the Great Patriotic War, and Andrey Sushchevich about the competition “Young Archivist” established in the Gomel region since this year.
The school cadets, being on search expeditions together with representatives of the 52nd specialized separate battalion of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, collected a large collection of documents, material evidence, items from the period of the Great Patriotic War. The director of the Gomel Cadet School Dmitry Grigorenko and the head of the search club “Scarlet shoulder straps” Pavel Denisenko acquainted the conference participants with the exposition of the school museum.
The school students organized a concert for the participants of the conference.
