Meeting with members of the memorial brigades of Post No 91 of the Hero City of Minsk at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On 3, 10 March, as part of the Archives for School campaign, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus hosted a meeting with members of the memorial brigades of Minsk schools, who keep the Honorary Watch of Memory at Post No 1 at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square.
The director of the archives Andrey Demyanyuk addressed the students with a welcoming speech. In his speech, he told about the work of the archives in preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus for future generations.
The students visited the photo-documentary exhibition “Echo of the Afghan War” timed to the Year of Historical Memory, the Internationalist Soldiers Remembrance Day, the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. I. V. Dorogush, head of the department of personal collections, held a lecture on the history of the Afghan war and spoke about the documents on display.
The students visited the archival repositories of the collections of personal papers and partisan formations, where they got acquainted with the documents of the state and party figures, Belarusian scientists and participants of the Great Patriotic War.
