A meeting with students of Minsk High School No 30 at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On 9 March, as part of the Archives for School campaign, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus hosted a meeting with students of the 7th grade and the head of military-patriotic education at High School No. 30 in Minsk Igor Malinin.
Andrei Demyanyuk, Director of the Archives, delivered a welcoming speech to the students. He spoke about the history of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, composition of documents and their storage, the archive’s work in the field of publishing and exhibition activities, the possibility of using archival documents in writing competitive research papers.
The students visited the photo-documentary exhibition “Echo of the Afghan War” timed to the Year of Historical Memory, the Internationalist Soldiers Remembrance Day, the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The head of the department of personal collections I. V. Dorogush spoke about the history of the Afghan war, the documents presented at the exhibition, the activities of the state and party bodies of the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus, public organizations and associations in the country to implement programs in the field of social and medical rehabilitation of soldiers-internationalists.
The students visited the archival repositories of personal and partisan collections, where they got acquainted with the documents of the state and party figures, scientists of Belarus and participants of the Great Patriotic War.
