The National Historical Archives of Belarus released a collection of documents “The Uniate Churches of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 17th Century: Materials of General Visitations”

The National Historical Archives of Belarus has published a collection of documents “The Uniate Churches of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 17th Century: Materials of General Visitations”.

The collection contains the texts of all currently known materials of the general visitations of Uniate (Greek-Catholic) churches and monasteries of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 17th century, which are kept in the archives and libraries of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.

For convenience, the book is supplied with a rich scientific and reference material – foreword, textual notes, name and geographical indexes.

The book was compiled by Denis Liseichikov, Deputy Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus.

The collection opens the publishing series of the National Historical Archives of Belarus entitled “Shrines of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania”, the main purpose of which is to publish in a systematic form the mass sources on the history of the main confessions in the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th-18th centuries.
