A joint meeting on cooperation in the field of archives between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation was held via videoconference

On October 21, 2021, in Minsk (Belarus) and Saransk (Mordovia of the Russian Federation) a joint meeting on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation in the field of archives was held via videoconference.

The event was opened by N. V. Bychkov, Deputy Minister of Culture, National Policy and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia, and V. I. Kourash, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
The meeting was attended by the head of the division of organizational work, information and documents use at the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus G. S. Zholnerkevich, Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus A. K. Demyanyuk, Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus D. V. Yatsevich, Director of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art A. V. Zapartyko, Director of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings A. N. Gonchar, Head of the Archives Department of the Ministry of Culture, National Policy and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia L. V. Chereseva, Director of the Central State Archives of the Republic Mordovia T. V. Martyushina, employees of the Central State Archives of the Republic of Mordovia.

During the meeting, the parties informed each other about the main areas of activity of archival bodies and institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation. It was noted that there is a significant potential in matters of cooperation between the sides. Separately, they discussed issues about archival documents related to the presence of Belarusians in Mordovia and representatives of the Mordovian people in Belarus.

The parties decided to consider the issue of preparing a separate agreement on cooperation between the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and the Archives Department of the Ministry of Culture, National Policy and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia.
