The Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus held a board meeting

On July 29, 2021, the Board of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter, the Department) held a meeting to discuss the work with appeals of citizens and legal entities in the Department and central archival institutions in the first half of 2021 and draft Guidelines on the preparation and submission of planning and reporting documentation of state archival institutions of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter, the draft methodological guidelines).

On the first question, the Board noted that during the first half of 2021 the activities of the Department and the central archival institutions were aimed at timely and high-quality examination of applications from citizens and legal entities.

The Board has instructed the heads of central archival institutions to exercise personal control over the fulfillment of Belarusian legislation on the organization of work with appeals of citizens and legal persons; to systematically examine the situation with appeals of citizens and legal persons at the meetings of the Board of the Department and the directorates of archival institutions.

The heads of the central archival institutions that have Internet sites were instructed to ensure the operation of their Internet sites in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 645 of April 29, 2010 “On some questions of the Internet sites of state agencies and organizations and the abolition of the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 192 of February 11, 2006”.

The heads of state archival institutions of the Republic of Belarus have been instructed to provide personal control over the timely provision of news information on the website “Archives of Belarus”.

On the second question, the Board decided to generally approve the draft Methodological Instructions.

The Board of the Department examined additional issues:

• on the work carried out within the framework of plans for ideological work;
• on strengthening control over the implementation of activities within the sub-program “Archives of Belarus” of the State Program “Culture of Belarus” for 2021-2025 and the State Program “Digital Development of Belarus” for 2021-2025;
• on the implementation of measures to prepare for the autumn and winter period.
