Opening of the historical-documentary exhibition “While the Memory Lives” based on documents from the State Archives of Minsk Region

On July 24-25, 2021, the Memorial Complex “Mound of Glory” hosted an opening ceremony of the historical-documentary exhibition “While the Memory Lives” based on documents from the State Archives of Minsk Region.

The exhibition features over sixty documents reflecting the events of the Great Patriotic War, the heroism and courage of our people.

Among these testimonies of the heroic deed of the Belarusian people are documents about the Nazi atrocities in the Masiukovshchina and Trostenets camps, documents about the Minsk underground fighters, a list of partisan units operating in the Minsk region, a list of partisan Heroes of the Soviet Union, personal and award sheets of partisans, sketches and recollections of combat participants, photographs of the destroyed Minsk. A special section of the exhibition is devoted to the activities aimed at preserving and perpetuating the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War in our country, including the act of acceptance into operation of the monument “Mound of Glory” on 21 km of the Minsk-Moscow highway.

Many of the documents presented at the exhibition were exhibited for the first time.
