Director of the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records Yury Prozorovich took part in the XII IT Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russian Federation

On June 15-16, 2021, Khanty-Mansiysk, Russian Federation, hosted the Foresight Session “Preservation of Documentary and Historical Information in the Era of Digital Transformation” and the Round Table “Access to Archival Information Resources in Digital Transformation” as part of the XII International IT Forum with BRICS and SCO participation. The organizer was the Archival Service of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra.

The topics of the events were aimed at discussing the best Russian and foreign practices of electronic records preservation and management, methods and goals of archiving digital information from social networks, ensuring preservation and increasing accessibility of digital archival heritage for citizens, the current state of subjects of digitalization in the archive industry and their expectations.

Representatives of the regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, China, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and South Africa took part in the two-day work in a mixed mode (some colleagues could not attend the events directly and connected online).

Within the framework of the foresight session, the Director of the Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Records Yury Prozorovich made a report “The Archive of Electronic Records of the National Archival Fonds of the Republic of Belarus. Practical Experience of Implementation and Operation”. In his speech, he presented the Belarusian experience of creating the archive of electronic records of the state archives managed by the information system of the electronic records archive of the National Archival Fonds of the Republic of Belarus.

Based on the results of the work, a draft resolution was prepared for inclusion in the final resolution of the XII International IT Forum with participation of BRICS and SCO countries, which provides recommendations for further development of relations in the format of international cooperation to identify promising areas within the digital transformation, forms of cooperation and discussion at expert community level, and others.

All participants highly praised the level of organization and conduct of the events and their undoubted practical importance.
