The Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings together with the Lupinovich Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus take part at the International Agricultural Exhibition Belagro-2021
On June 1, 2021, employees of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD) together with employees of the Lupinovich Belarusian Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the opening of the International Agricultural Exhibition Belagro-2021, which began its work at the exhibition center of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone” and will be held from June 1 to 5, 2021.
For the exhibition the Archives has presented two original photo albums “Agricultural Exhibitions of Belarus” of 1951 and “To the 40th Anniversary of the BSSR” of 1957, as well as newsreel materials. The documents presented by the Archives reflect the historical milestones in the development of agriculture in the 1950s-1960s. Their demonstration aroused great interest among the visitors of the exhibition.
During the opening of the exposition, the guests of the exhibition, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Subbotin, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Igor Brylo, and Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov were shown original documents from the Archive collections, which aroused a very lively and huge interest.
The archive newsreels shown at the exhibition attracted many visitors who were able to see for the first time how the exhibitions were held in the pre-war years in Belarus and at the VDNH Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow.
The International Exhibition Belagro-2021 will last five days and will solemnly close on 5 June. Novelties in industry, science, livestock and plant growing, educational seminars, delicious food, all this can be found and seen at the international exhibition in the coming days.
