Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies

The main activities of BelNIIDAD are:

• Development of the theory of document management, archival science, archaeography, source studies and other special historical disciplines
• Conducting applied research in the field of document management, improving documentation systems and technologies for working with documents in government agencies and other organizations
• Unification and standardization of office and archival processes, development of draft state standards, other technical regulatory legal acts in the field of document and archive management
• Maintaining the national classifier of the Republic of Belarus OKRB «Unified Documents», developing and maintaining a unified system of organizational and administrative documentation (USORD)
• Development of scientific principles and methodology for compiling archives, examining the value, ensuring the safety of documents, creating a scientific reference apparatus for documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus
• Development of scientific principles for the use and publication of documents from the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus, archaeographic processing and publication of documents on the history of Belarus
• Research of current problems of Belarusian statehood and culture, study of the history of record keeping and archival construction
• Studying the economics of archiving and documentation support for management
• Preparation of draft normative legal acts and methodological documents in the field of archival affairs and office work
• Publication of scientific, production-practical, normative production-practical and reference publications in accordance with the main areas of activity of the institute
