Zonal State Archives in Mozyr

Historical background

In 1922, the District Division of the Central Archives of Belarus was founded in Mozyr.

In 1924, the Mozyr District Archives was established at the Mozyr District Executive Committee.

In 1938, the Polesye Regional State Archives was established, and in 1954 it was reorganized as the Mozyr Municipal State Archives.

In 1963, the Mozyr Municipal State Archives was reorganized as the Branch of the State Archives of Gomel Region in Mozyr, and in 1996 it was renamed as the Zonal (Local) State Archives in Mozyr.

From 2001 – the state institution “The Zonal State Archives in Mozyr”.
