Photo exhibition “The First World War in the photo chronicle of the Second Caucasus Army Corps” (photos from the collection of I. Surmachevsky)
On 9 April 2019 the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD) together with the State Institution of the Centralized System of State Public Libraries in Minsk held a presentation of the photo exhibition “The First World War in the photo chronicle of the Second Caucasus Army Corps” (photographs from the collection of I. Surmachevsky). The exhibition is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. The opening of the exhibition was held at the conference hall of the Yanka Kupala Central Library.
The exposition shows 83 photographs depicting the events of the First World War with the participation of the Second Caucasus Army Corps in 1914-1917, who engaged in intense bloody battles at Smorgon and Krevo. The copse staff was stationed in Molodechno, and many photographs were taken in the Molodechno district.

The event brought together historians, museum and library workers, cadets of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus, and general public.
