A round table, Priority Areas of Research Studies in Records Management and Archival Science in the Current Stage dedicated to the 25th anniversary of BelNIIDAD
A round table, Priority Areas of Research Studies in Records Management and Archival Science in the Current Stage was held in the conference hall of the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Minsk on 13 December 2016. The meeting was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD).
The meeting was opened by V. Adamushko, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. He described the topical issues addressed by the state archival institutions, records management offices and institutional archives, noting the necessity of their scholarly processing. BelNIIDAD Director A. Rybakov made a report outlining the main areas of scholarly research at BelNIIDAD during the past five years, the conditions of scholarly activities, and the present problems. Pro-rector at the Belarusian State University, S. Khodin spoke on the cooperation between science and education, and the topical issues in the professional training of archivists and records managers.
The participants at the round table were Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus D. Yatsevich, Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno T. Afanasieva, Director of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records V. Balandin, Director of the Belarusian Archives-Museum of Literature and Art A. Zapartyko, Director of the Belarusian Research Center of Electronic Records V. Nosevich, Director of the Central Laboratory of Records Microfilming and Restoration V. Klyuiko, Director of the State Archives of Minsk Region Yu. Romashko etc.
The foreign guests who delivered reports at the meeting were Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science M. Larin (Russia), Deputy Director V. Yankovaya, Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Science and Documentation A. Garanin (Ukraine), Head of the Documentation Division V. Boiko.
The event included the exhibition-presentation of scholarly and methodical publications released by BelNIIDAD in 2012-2016. BelNIIDAD deputy director for science, E. Shumskaya and head of the archival editing V. Pozdnyakov acquainted the participants with the new guidances published by the Institute.
