BelNIIDAD held a workshop on Records Appraisal and File Planning for staff of the Belaruskaly Potash Company
The Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD) held a practice-oriented workshop “Records Appraisal and the Creation of File Plans in Institutions” for the staff of the JSC Belaruskaly Potash Company. The workshop was held on 6 December 2016 in the town of Soligorsk, Minsk Region.
The workshop brought together nearly 50 people: office managers, secretaries, heads of internal divisions, accounters, other interested persons. BelNIIDAD director Andrey Rybakov and BelNIIDAD expert-consultant Ella Davydova delivered lectures to the audience.
The workshop examined a wide range of issues: the concept, principles, criteria and procedures of conducting records appraisal; records retention periods, normative regulations for records retention, the standard and agency-specific records schedules; the procedures for creation, coordination, confirmation, and completion of file plans in individual institutions and internal divisions; preparation of records for transfer to the institutional archive; requirements to the creation of file folders; the procedures of making inventories and file lists for permanent, temporary and personnel records; disposal of records with expired retention periods etc.
