Lessons and excursions for students of the school camp of Secondary School No.42 in Grodno as part of the national campaign «Archives for Schools» at the State Archives of the Grodno Region

On July 9, 2026, as part of the national campaign «Archives for Schools», the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons on the topic «State Archives of the Grodno Region: History and Modernity» for students of the school camp of Secondary School No.42 in Grodno.

Archives staff told the students about the history of the archive, its main activities, and the composition of its documents. The students were shown the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive, as well as document exhibitions dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War. A screening of the documentary «Independence Day: A Chronicle of Belarusian Statehood», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, was also organized for schoolchildren.

During the archive’s tours, the students visited the document digitization and restoration department and the archival storage facility.
