Vocational orientation tour for students of secondary school No.10 in Rechitsa through the Rechitsa state archive

As part of the action «Archives – school» and on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (July 3), the guests of the Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa were the students of secondary school No.10 in Rechitsa, who came for the purpose of professional orientation. During the tour, the archivists informed the children about their work and what documents the archive stores. In particular, the young guests were shown documents from the time of the Great Patriotic War – letters, reports of the Sovinformburo, etc. The children enjoyed getting to know the history of the archive, they learned for what purposes archive documents are used and in which educational institutions they study to become archivists.

The culmination of the meeting was the screening of the documentary film «Fortress-Hero», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents. The film contains information about the defense of the Brest Fortress, about the opening of the «Brest Hero Fortress» memorial and reflects the courage and heroism of the defenders of the citadel, who fulfilled their military duty to the end in the fight against the German fascist invaders.
