Archival Workers Participated in Events Commemorating the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War
On June 22, 2026, the Department of Archives and Records Management, as well as state archival institutions, held commemorative gatherings to mark the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People. In memory of the victims, archival workers joined in a nationwide moment of silence, which took place at 12:00 PM throughout Belarus. Thematic videos, films, and video footage dedicated to the tragic pages of Belarusian history were shown to the event’s staff and guests, as well as documentary exhibitions revealing evidence of the events of the war years.
This day holds a special place in our country’s calendar of memorable dates, reminding each of us of the price of peace and freedom. By preserving and studying the documentary legacy of those years, archivists contribute to preserving the historical truth about the heroism of the Belarusian people and perpetuating the memory of the millions of war victims.
