On June 8 and 10, 2026, students from a school and a university in Vitebsk visited the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region

The tours were conducted for two groups of students from Vitebsk Secondary School No.17, attending the «Themis» legal camp, and for correspondence students from the P.M.Masherov Vitebsk State University, majoring in Social Work and Counseling.

During the visit, the students and adults learned about the archive’s main activities, viewed publications and exhibitions of archival documents, visited one of the archives’ storage facilities, and viewed a number of virtual exhibitions prepared by the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region, as well as the documentary «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

The event was held as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign and was timed to coincide with International Archives Day.

1. Students from Vitebsk Secondary School No.17 familiarize themselves with publications from the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region.

2. Students from Vitebsk Secondary School No.17 watch the film «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Archives of Film and Television.

3. Students from Masherov VSU in one of the archives of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region.
