The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus participated in an event marking International Children’s Day

On June 1, 2026, an event was held at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater as part of International Children’s Day. The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Office, and the UN Country Team in Belarus.

The event’s special guests included Natalya Anatolyevna Ryzhenkova, the spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; Rustam Takhirovich Khaidarov, the UNICEF Representative in Belarus; and Rasul Alievich Bagirov, the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus. In her welcoming remarks, Natalya Ryzhenkova noted the high level of state support for children and the equal opportunities provided to every child in our country.

Participants in the event included children from boarding schools in Minsk, Molodechno, and Vileika, students from the A.E.Gurinovich Perezhir Secondary School and the Social and Pedagogical Center of the Moskovsky District of Minsk, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as children of members of the foreign diplomatic corps and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus presented the exhibition «Kupala. History in People», dedicated to women who have become symbols of the Belarusian stage.

The exhibition featured documents on awards and honorary titles conferred, confirming the contribution of actresses to national culture. A special place in the display was given to certificates of the participation of women from the Kupala Theater in the partisan movement. The documents were supplemented by objects and photographs from the collections of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater.

M.A.Starostenko, Head of Department of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, introduced the exhibition to representatives of the diplomatic corps and all participants of the event.
