Dialogue platform between the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art and the Faculty of Philology of Belarusian State University dedicated to Victory Day

On May 8, 2026, on the eve of the great holiday of Victory Day, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as the BSAMLI), together with the administration and faculty of the Faculty of Philology of Belarusian State University, organized a dialogue platform dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress.

During the dialogue platform, the participants were welcomed by G.K.Chekhovsky, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Belarusian State University, and E.A.Makarenko, Director of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art.

E.A. Makarenko spoke about the network of state archival institutions in Belarus and the composition of the documents in their collections on the history of the Great Patriotic War. She paid special attention to the new acquisitions of wartime documents at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art.

D.S.Samokhvalov, Leading Researcher at the Department of Information, Publication, and Use of Documents at the BSAMLI, gave a lecture to students of the Faculty of Philology at BSU. He presented the film «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Audio Documents with the participation of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. He also presented the virtual exhibition «The War Passed Through Their Hearts», created using documents from the BSAMLI archival collections.
