A lesson as part of the «Young Archivist» project and a screening of the documentary «Hero Fortress» by the Zonal State Archives in Kobrin

On May 7, 2026, an unusual lesson was held within the archive for students of grade 10A of Kobrin Secondary School No.1 as part of the «Young Archivist» project. This time, the students immersed themselves in the world of restoration, mastering the basics of minor repairs to files.

The students learned about document restoration and why it is so important for preserving history. They were told how to carefully and meticulously handle worn documents to prolong their lifespan.

During the practical portion of the lesson, the students had the opportunity to try their hand at being real restorers. Under the careful guidance of experienced specialists, they learned to restore damaged sheets using specialized materials and techniques.

The lesson not only broadened the students’ horizons but also provided them with valuable practical experience, which may inspire others to pursue their future professions.

After the lesson, the students were shown the documentary film «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents for the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress.
