The creation of the Pavlov’s House memorial wall and the history of the dogs that defended Stalingrad: The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region continues the educational campaign of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project

On April 13, 2026, a lesson on the history of Pavlov’s House and the animals that participated in the Battle of Stalingrad was held at the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 of Vitebsk named after M.M.Bakhtin» as part of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project.

Children were shown videos about the creation of the Pavlov’s House memorial complex and Volgograd monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, as well as footage of the Battle of Stalingrad from the collections of the Russian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents (RGAKFFD).

The students reinforced their acquired knowledge through the quest «What Do I Know About Animal War Heroes?» and «Monuments of the Cities of Volgograd and Vitebsk Relating to the Great Patriotic War».

The winners were awarded books published by the archive.

1. Deputy Principal Tatyana Vladimirovna Buevich, as part of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project, teaches a lesson for 10th and 11th graders at the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 in Vitebsk named after M.M. Bakhtin».

2-4. During a lesson dedicated to the history of «Pavlov’s House» and the animals that participated in the defense of Stalingrad.

5-6. The quests «What Do I Know About Animal War Heroes?» and «Monuments of the Cities of Volgograd and Vitebsk Relating to the Great Patriotic War» are underway at the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 in Vitebsk named after M.M. Bakhtin».

7. Awarding Ceremony for the Winners of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» Project Quests at the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.11 of Vitebsk Named after M.M.Bakhtin».
