On the Participation of the Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in a Workshop on Genocide
On April 9, 2026, a workshop entitled «Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War: A Historical and Legal Assessment» was held at the Scientific and Practical Center for Strengthening Law and Order of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the SPC).
Welcoming remarks were addressed to the participants by: Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB), PhD in History, S.V.Kulinok; Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, PhD in History, Associate Professor, V.L.Lakiza; and Director of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, D.V.Mukha.
During the seminar, an agreement was signed between the Scientific and Practical Center and a temporary research team consisting of legal scholars, historians, and archivists to conduct research on the topic «The Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War: A Historical and Legal Assessment». Deputy Director of the NARB S.V.Kulinok was appointed head of the Scientific and Practical Center.
For his personal contribution to the study of genocide, S.V.Kulinok was also awarded the Scientific and Practical Center’s badge of honor.
The seminar concluded with a closed preview of the documentary film «Hero Fortress», prepared by archivists from the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents. Forum participants were among the first in the country to view the film.
