As part of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project, the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region held a series of events about the Great Patriotic War
On March 12, the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project was officially launched in Vitebsk.
On March 14, Remembrance Day, dedicated to the heroes of Vitebsk and Stalingrad, opened the educational phase of the project.
As part of this phase, the archive is holding events dedicated to promoting the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War through the events of the Battle of Stalingrad (1943) and the Belarusian Offensive Operation Bagration (1944), as well as reminding them of the value of peaceful life.
The goal is to instill in children, adolescents, and young adults respect for the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in the fight against the Nazi invaders, and a sense of pride in the victorious nation.
From March 14 to April 6, over 25 events of various formats (public meetings, lessons, lectures, excursions, etc.) featuring quests were held. The events took place at the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I. Lenin, Vitebsk Secondary Schools No.2, 11, 30, and 38, Gymnasium No.9, Children’s Art School No.1, the Vitebsk State Industrial and Technological College, the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.
