On the thematic lesson «Belarus and Russia: Common History, Common Destiny» held for students of the Slobodskaya Secondary School of the Mozyr District
As part of the national «Archives for School» campaign, a thematic lesson «Belarus and Russia: Common History, Common Destiny» was held for students of the Slobodskaya Secondary School of the Mozyr District on April 6, 2026, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The purpose of this lesson was to foster students’ understanding of the value of friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia, the unity of their states, and to develop a vision of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
Yulia Mikhailovna Suponenko, an employee of the Zonal State Archives in Mozyr, explained to the students that the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia is not just a symbolic date, but a reminder that the two nations are connected by a shared history, culture, and values. This holiday emphasizes the importance of cooperation and mutual assistance in the face of modern challenges.
For Belarus and Russia, unity is of paramount importance. It allows us to strengthen economic ties, develop joint projects in science, education, and culture, and ensure security and stability in the region. The Union State has become a unique example of integration, demonstrating that even in the face of globalization and political change, traditional ties can be preserved and strengthened.
