Unified Information Day at the Belarusian State Archives of the Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI)

On March 31, 2026, as part of a unified information day for the public, Sergei Borisovich Kaun, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Source Studies at Belarusian State University, presented a report titled «Modern Approaches to Regional Development: From Economics to the Social Sphere», which addressed the most pressing issues of the Belarusian state’s social development policy. The speaker addressed population issues, specifically the declining rural population, the disparities in the growth rates of prosperity across Belarus’s regions, and the provision of housing, jobs, affordable healthcare, and education. A key part of the report was a presentation on the Belarusian state’s future plans for regional development.

A lively discussion followed, during which BGAMLI staff asked S.B.Kaun questions of interest to them, including the role of the archival industry in effective local governance, the development of sports and tourism in rural areas, and future trends in youth migration from rural to urban areas.
