An event dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia was held at the Gomel Region Public Associations Archive

On March 31, 2026, the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region hosted an event dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia with students from the Francisk Skaryna Gomel State University.

During the event, students learned about the history of the Union State and contemporary aspects of cooperation between the two fraternal countries. A special highlight of the event was a screening of the documentary film «Liberation», produced by the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Archive.

The students were also presented with the memoirs of World War II veterans who took part in the defense of Gomel, the personal files of heroic members of the Gomel People’s Militia Regiment, and documents documenting the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.

The event concluded with a tour of the archival repository, during which students learned about the archive’s main activities and its role in preserving historical memory.
