The State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region held a series of events commemorating the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of the Ozarichi death camp.

A documentary film about the Ozarichi camp was screened for students of the Gomel State College of Consumer Services, Gomel State College of Culinary Arts, Gomel State Mechanical Engineering College, and Gomel Secondary School No.3 named after D.N.Penyazkov. The film featured prisoners’ recollections of those horrific days, along with documentary evidence from historians and museum staff. The students were presented with authentic archival documents—lists of liberated prisoners from the German camp «Ozarichi»—as well as the memoirs of General P.I.Batov, which describe the heroic episode of the prisoners’ liberation. They also examined archival documents documenting the brutal ordeals suffered by civilians in the Belarusian Polesie region in March 1944.

At the end of the event, the students were given a tour of the archives.
