The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region organized a Day of Remembrance dedicated to the heroes of Vitebsk and Stalingrad
On March 14, 2026, as part of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project, an informational and educational event — a Day of Remembrance dedicated to the heroes of Vitebsk and Stalingrad — was held.
Over 600 people attended the event, including students from colleges, gymnasiums, secondary schools, and members of the public in Vitebsk.
The event featured 13 thematic sections.
Speakers included employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region and the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin.
Some of the presentations were presented as videos by the State Archives of the Volgograd Region.
A unique newsreel about the Battle of Stalingrad and the Belarusian Offensive Operation «Bagration» was shown.
Quests were also held. The youngest winner of the quests was Polina Khvalko (Secondary School No.2). Prizes for winning the quests will also be awarded to Kira Sukhodolova and Egor Dunets (Gymnasium No.4), Roman Ignatov (Secondary School No.38), Tatyana Isakova (Gymnasium No.9), Elena Galuzo and Ulyana Dolgaleeva (Secondary School No.17), Maria Belkina, Elvira Mirzoeva, and Pavel Evnenchik (Secondary School No.16).
