Lessons for students of the O.I.Solomova Gymnasium No.3 in Grodno as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region
On March 3, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons on the topic of «Partisan and Underground Struggle in the Grodno Region During the Great Patriotic War» for 8th- and 9th-grade students of the O.I.Solomova Gymnasium No.3 in Grodno.
Archives staff told the students about the selfless and courageous struggle of partisans and underground fighters against the occupying authorities. The students were greatly interested in the memoirs and letters of war veterans, as well as documents and materials on the activities of anti-fascist units in the Grodno region: orders from partisan brigade headquarters, combat diaries, and notebooks. They were also introduced to the exhibitions of documents on display in the archive’s reading room, dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War.
At the end of the lesson, the students visited the archival repository, where they learned about the storage conditions, composition, and content of documents, and visited the document digitization and restoration department.
