Guided Tour of the State Archives of the Minsk Region

On February 18, 2026, representatives of the Zhilikhov Secondary School in the Kopyl District visited the State Archives of the Minsk Region. Seventh-grade students, along with their geography teacher, began working with documents in the State Archives reading room as part of their research project on the history of their native region.

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the «Young Archivist» project, the students and their mentor were given a guided tour of the archives. Staff explained the institution’s history, the composition of its collections, the storage conditions for its files, and more. The students were also shown the new exhibition «The Forties, Fateful, Military, and Frontline…», prepared for the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.

During the meeting, career guidance and career choices were discussed. Staff discussed with the students the specifics of archivists’ work and the institution’s goals and objectives for preserving our country’s documentary heritage.
