Employees of the State Archives of the Grodno Region took part in events dedicated to Internationalist Warriors’ Remembrance Day

On February 15, 2026, employees of the State Archives of the Grodno Region took part in a memorial service dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Participants laid flowers at the memorial in the Memorial Square for Afghan Warriors, paying tribute to those who died during the war.

The fate of an entire generation of internationalist soldiers is reflected in the biography of Svyatoslav Mikhailovich Genyush, an employee of the State Archives of the Grodno Region and a participant in the military operations in Afghanistan. He shared his memories of the terrible events of those years with his colleagues and thanked everyone for preserving the memory of the heroism and courage of our fellow countrymen who fulfilled their international duty with honor and dignity.
