Lessons for students of V.V.Babko Secondary School No.12 in Grodno as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region

On February 10 and 11, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons on the topic «Unconquered Grodno» for 8th- and 9th-grade students of V.V.Babko Secondary School No.12 in Grodno.

Archives staff told the students about the partisan and underground movements in the Grodno region, the liberation battles for Grodno in July 1944, the socioeconomic consequences of the occupation, and the long process of rebuilding the war-torn national economy. The students were introduced to documentary materials from the German occupation authorities, as well as documents from partisan detachments and brigades operating in the Grodno region. They were also introduced to exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, displayed in the archive’s reading room.

At the end of the lessons, the students were given a tour of the archive, visiting the digitization and restoration department and the archival storage facility.
