On a tour of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus for students of Minsk Gymnasium No.9

On February 10, 2026, a tour for students of Minsk Gymnasium No.9 named after D.M. Mankevich was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (NARB) as part of the nationwide «Archives for Schools» and «Young Archivist» campaigns.

NARB Deputy Director and PhD in History S.V.Kulinok welcomed the guests. He also spoke about the archive’s history, its main areas of activity, the composition of its documents, and the potential for their use in writing research papers on the history of Belarus.

During the second part of the tour, the students visited the archive’s repository of World War II-era documents, where they learned about the storage conditions for documents, as well as documentary sources on the history of the partisan movement, the crimes committed by the German occupation authorities against the civilian population, and the deportation of civilians from the BSSR to forced labor in Germany.

Guests were also shown the video «We Remember…», produced by NARB staff using artificial intelligence technology.

The tour, organized by NARB, was aimed at deepening students’ knowledge through interaction with authentic sources, introducing them to the archivist profession, and fostering a responsible attitude toward our country’s documentary heritage.
