«Youth for Belarus». The main points of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly were discussed with medical college students at the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk
On January 26, 2026, as part of the «Youth for Belarus» outreach project, a roundtable discussion entitled «Belarus is Us» was held with students of the Slutsk State Medical College named after S.I. Shklyarevsky.
The meeting took place at the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk.
Natalia Ovsyannikova, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and a delegate to the 7th All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, noted the importance of youth participation in public life, emphasizing Belarus’s independent policy and the need for each citizen to contribute to the country’s development. Participants discussed the main points of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly and learned firsthand about the proceedings from a delegate of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. Young people cannot remain outside of politics, because politics encompasses everything that surrounds us: education, healthcare, social support, security, and much more. A keen interest in what’s happening in the country and the world, a conscious civic position—all of this should be your priority.
«How we will live tomorrow depends on each of us and on our unity. If we are united and cohesive, we will be strong, and if we are strong, the country will be peaceful and prosperous. What Belarus will be depends only on us», the parliamentarian concluded her speech with the words of Alexander Lukashenko.
The students’ introduction to the history and work of the archive, as well as the collection of its collections, was very informative and interesting.
Archive Director Irina Antonovna Borodina noted: «Such meetings help students deepen their knowledge of the history of our country, become familiar with primary sources, and understand the importance of archival work».
Irina Antonovna emphasized the importance of the archive in preserving historical and cultural heritage for future generations. Participants were given a tour of the archive, focusing on documents documenting the genocide of the Belarusian population during the Great Patriotic War, the atrocities of the Nazi invaders and their accomplices, and the damage they caused.
