The Rechitsa Zonal State Archives presents a document naming a street in the urban settlement of Bragin after Sh.V.Chelidze, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War

Shalva Vladimirovich Chelidze was the commander of the 111th Regiment of the 55th Rifle Division, whose battalions crossed the Braginka River and liberated Bragin on November 23, 1943. Chelidze personally served in the most critical areas, demonstrating courage and bravery. He was wounded several times. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the medals «For Courage», «For Military Merit», and others.

The Rechitsa State Archives holds the resolution of the Bragin City Executive Committee dated November 21, 1968 (F.187, Inv.1, Item 127, P.48ob). In accordance with it, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the Bragin region from the Nazi invaders, the former 2nd Pyatiletka Street in Bragin was renamed in honor of Sh.V.Chelidze.
