Archivist’s Day – a celebration of the guardians of history

On October 6th, Belarus celebrates a professional holiday – Archivist’s Day. This special date is dedicated to the people who carefully preserve the country’s documentary heritage, ensure its accessibility, and help us better understand the past.

On this significant day, a ceremonial staff meeting was held at the State Archives of the Mogilev Region. Archive Director Svetlana Leonidovna Sharaeva congratulated those gathered on the professional holiday and presented a photo report highlighting the key and memorable moments of 2025.

Then, the results of the first-ever «Best in Profession» competition held at the archive were announced. The title of «Best Manager» was awarded to Natalia Nikolaevna Kravtsova, Head of the Department of NAF Formation and Records Management. The «Archive Professionals» category was awarded to Alina Igorevna Gerbeleva, Leading Archivist of the NAF Formation and Records Management Department. The «Archive Prospects» category went to Ksenia Nikolaevna Skaptsova, Second Qualification Category Archivist of the Document Accounting and Preservation Department.

Present at the meeting were Andrei Mikhailovich Stolyarov, Head of the Main Justice Department of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, and Yulia Stanislavovna Klintsova, Head of the Department of Mandatory Legal Expertise, Coordination of the Work of Single-Stop Services, for Archives and Records Management, who presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus to Galina Vladimirovna Kudina, Leading Archivist of the NAF Formation and Records Management Department, and Aleksey Ivanovich Shvyrev, Leading Archivist of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information.

Certificates of honor from the Main Department of Justice of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee were presented to Alina Igorevna Gerbeleva, Lead Archivist of the Department of National Archive Formation and Records Management; Ksenia Nikolaevna Skaptsova, Second Qualification Category Archivist of the Department of Records and Preservation of Documents; and Elena Sergeevna Korotkevich, First Qualification Category Archivist of the Document Digitization Sector.
