«The History of Taste: Traditions and Technologies of the Meat-Processing Plant», a documentary exhibition at the Zonal State Archives of Molodechno

The staff of the Document Use and Publication Department of the Zonal State Archives of Molodechno have prepared a documentary exhibition dedicated to the development and establishment of the Molodechno Meat-Processing Plant.

The exhibition includes documents from the archival collection that provide a comprehensive history of the meat-processing plant: the decision of the Molodechno City Council of Workers’ Deputies to allocate land for the construction of a meat-processing plant, the plant’s passport, regulations, the approval of various GOST standards for the plant, and media coverage of the meat-processing plant from the 1960s to the 1990s.

History: The Molodechno Meat-Processing Plant was established in 1939. During the Great Patriotic War, Molodechno was occupied by Nazi Germany, and the plant ceased operations. The state-owned Molodechno Meat Processing Plant resumed operations in 1944 with 22 employees (18 of whom were women).

Since 1955, a major leap forward has been made: a new building, an artesian well, and warehouses have been constructed, bringing the workforce to over 150.

2009 – Following the transfer of ownership to Veles-Meat LLC, comprehensive modernization, and the commissioning of modern equipment, the plant now has a production capacity of 900 tons of sausages and deli meats and 150 tons of semi-finished products per month. 2017 – The Sovlovo Pig Breeding Complex, with a capacity of 100,000 pigs per year, was commissioned; it raises exclusively Danish-bred pork. 2017 – The company received permission to ship frozen beef to China and established its own trading house there. Spring 2019 – The Polochany Pig Breeding Complex, with a capacity of 100,000 pigs per year, was commissioned. The enterprise is certified for food safety management systems (HACCP), quality management systems (ISO), and product certification.
