A literary meeting, «On the Wings of Artistic Words», was held at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI) as part of the national campaign «Living Connection between Generations»

On September 18, 2025, as part of the national campaign «Living Connection between Generations», a literary meeting, «On the Wings of Artistic Words», was held at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI). It was the first event in a new series of events planned to be held at the archives and museum on a traditional basis.

Significantly, the evening’s highlight was renowned Belarusian writer Vladimir Stepanovich Lipsky. He presented his new autobiographical book, «Tsyalets», and sincerely shared his reflections on his life and creative journey with those gathered.

BSAMLI Director E.A.Makarenko delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the significance of Vladimir Lipsky’s work for Belarusian literature.

It is worth noting that Vladimir Stepanovich is a founding member of the BSAMLI collection. His documents began arriving at the archive-museum in 1996, and in 2015, they were scientifically described and compiled into inventory No.1 of Collection 458. The inventory included creative documents, correspondence, visual documents, biographical documents, and others. The collection is still being expanded.

Close friends and colleagues of Vladimir Lipsky were invited to the literary meeting, including L.S.Ananich, Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus; M.P.Poznyakov, Chairman of the Minsk City Branch of the Writers’ Union; M.G.Zakharevich, People’s Artist of Belarus and actress; A.I.Butevich, writer and statesman; R.A.Borovikova, actor and director, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus V.D.Anisenko; Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus L.A.Ulashchenko, and others. They congratulated the author and shared their memories, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.

Vladimir Stepanovich himself spoke vividly and engagingly not only about the writing of «Tsyalets», but also about his life and creative journey, and about the renowned writers with whom he was fortunate to work and befriend: Ivan Shamyakin, Maxim Tank, Pimen Panchenko, Ivan Chigrinov, and others. As a token of gratitude and respect, Vladimir Lipsky donated the author’s manuscript of «Tsyalets», an honorary personalized medal, and the autographed book itself to the archive-museum.

It is important to note that the meeting was attended by young people — students of the Faculty of Philology at BSU with the Dean of the Faculty, S.A.Vazhnik, and students of Secondary School No.4 of Minsk.
