Lecture by the National Historical Archives of Belarus at the Museum of the History and Culture of Jews in Belarus
On August 6, 2025, at the Museum of the History and Culture of Jews in Belarus, which operates under the auspices of the Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Organizations and Communities, Aksana Zenko, head of the research, publication and exhibition activities sector, gave a lecture on «Facts of the biography of E.V. Pasternak, reflected in the documents of the National Historical Archives of Belarus».
Yevgenia Vladimirovna Pasternak (née Lurye; 1898-1965) was a Soviet artist, the first wife of the poet Boris Pasternak, and the mother of his eldest son, literary scholar Yevgeny Pasternak. The National Historical Archives of Belarus contains documents about E.V. Lurye’s studies in Mogilev, including a photograph of the future artist, as well as individual documents about her family members. The lecture aroused great interest among the audience.
