On holding an annual seminar for ideological workers of the Mogilev region at the State Archives of the Mogilev Region

On July 31, 2025, an annual seminar for ideological workers of the region «Perpetuating the memory of those killed in the defense of the Fatherland and the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. Experience and tasks of the ideological vertical» was held at the State Archives of the Mogilev Region.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the departments (sectors) of ideological work and youth affairs of the city and district executive committees responsible for perpetuating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and victims of the war, representatives of the public association «Mogilev Regional Historical and Patriotic Search Club «Vikkru», archivists.

During the event, its participants visited the archive storage facility on an excursion, where they got acquainted with the conditions for storing documents and the composition of the archival funds. Then the guests were shown the banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past», dedicated to the history of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War: the defense of the city, the occupation and genocide of the Belarusian people, liberation from the Nazi invaders and the post-war restoration of the regional center.

In the reading room, the seminar participants were told about the types and specifics of the archive’s work. The tour ended in the assembly hall with an exhibition of documents from the fund «Mogilev Regional Commission for Assistance in the Work of the Extraordinary State Commission for the Investigation and Establishment of the Atrocities of the Nazi Invaders and Their Accomplices and Accounting of the Damage Caused by Them in the Mogilev Region». The presented documents illustrate the economic damage and civilian casualties inflicted during the Great Patriotic War. These figures and facts are evidence of the price that the residents of the Mogilev region paid for liberation from the Nazi occupation. As a token of gratitude for the hospitality,

Deputy Head of the Ideological Work Department of the Main Directorate of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Yulia Zalogo and Deputy Chairperson of the Public Association «Mogilev Regional Historical and Patriotic Search Club «Vikru» Alla Kazyuchits presented the Director of the Institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» Svetlana Sharaeva with the book by Nikolai Borisenko «Buinichi Field: «To Stay and Die…» and the 18th issue of the Mogilev Search Bulletin, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The publications will replenish the library collection of the archive and will be available to users of the reading room.
