The archival industry plays an important role in preserving national memory: Minister of Justice Evgeny Kovalenko visited state archival institutions on July 21, 2025

On July 21, 2025, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Evgeny Kovalenko visited the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs.

At the NIAB, the head of the department was shown unique documents stored in the funds, told about the history of the institution and the key areas of its activities. Particular attention was paid to the work carried out to preserve the historical and documentary heritage of the country. At the Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs, Evgeny Kovalenko was introduced to the main topics of the institution’s research work. In addition, the Minister inspected the capital repair facility, checking the progress of construction work and its compliance with the approved plans.

During the visit, the Minister noted that the archival industry plays an important role in preserving national memory. No less important are scientific researches in the sphere of documentation and archival affairs, which must keep up with the times.
