Campaign «Archives for School» in the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region

On June 19, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» was visited by students of the educational institution «Gomel State Machine-Building College».

A screening of the documentary film «History of the Great Victory» was organized for the children, prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

During the event, students were introduced to archival documents testifying to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War,

memories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War who participated in the defense of Gomel, as well as personal files of members of the Gomel People’s Militia Regiment and Heroes of the Soviet Union.

The event ended with a visit to the exhibition of archival documents «And tomorrow was Victory …», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and a sightseeing tour of the archive.
