The archivists got acquainted with the history of the village of Borki, with the tragedy that occurred on June 15, 1942 at this place; visited the local museum and chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God «Seeking the Lost».

In mid-June 1942, during an attack by a special SS unit led by Oskar Dirlewanger, with the support of collaborators, the 8th Einsatzkommando and a platoon of the 51st reserve police battalion, 2,027 civilians were shot and burned.
