On the participation of the institution State Archives of the Gomel Region in the presentation of the book «Gomel Partisan Region»

On May 16, 2025, employees of the State Archives of the Gomel Region took part in the presentation of the book «Gomel Partisan Region». The book was published for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory by the editorial board of the regional newspaper «Gomelskaya Pravda». The publication, superbly executed in artistic and printing design, contains valuable materials from the point of view of historical significance and can be considered a bibliographic rarity. The book contains documents and photographs on the development and formation of the partisan movement in the Gomel and Polesie regions during the Great Patriotic War. Archival documents of the State Archives of the Gomel Region on examples of heroism and the struggle of people’s avengers against the Nazi invaders were used. As well as original materials and documents from the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region, the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory, and the museum fund of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble. The publication, designed for a wide range of readers, is aimed at popularizing historical facts and is a tribute to the memory of the generation of the Victors.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, archives, public institutions, museums and libraries.
