The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus presents a virtual exhibition «From the history of greening Minsk in the 1920s-1980s»

The city of Minsk is known not only for its rich history and cultural heritage, but also for its sustainable traditions of greening. In the Year of Improvement, this aspect of urban life is becoming increasingly relevant and important, given the need to improve the quality of life in rapidly developing urban conditions. The creation of sustainable and multifunctional green areas not only enriches the space, but also has many environmental, social and economic benefits.

The employees of the Information Retrieval Systems Department of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus have prepared a virtual exhibition reflecting various aspects of the greening process of Minsk during the 1920s-1980s. In preparing the exhibition, documents from the funds of state authorities and administration of the BSSR, as well as from the personal funds of Belarusian state and party figures were used. The documents presented at the exhibition testify to the fact that throughout different historical periods, the traditions of active greening of Minsk have been preserved and developed, thanks to which it becomes an even more beautiful and comfortable city to live in.
