«Young Archivist»: a lesson at Rechitsa Secondary School No.7

On May 5, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the «Young Archivist» pilot project, the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa held a lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War at Rechitsa Secondary School No.7, with which the archive has concluded a cooperation agreement.

In the first part of the lesson, entitled «War Letters», students from grade 10 «B» were informed about the letters written by participants and witnesses of the Great Patriotic War that are stored in the Rechitsa State Archives and what significance they have for society. Then the students personally familiarized themselves with the contents of the letters.

The second part of the lesson was held in the form of a film lecture. The students were shown the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory», prepared on the basis of newsreel materials of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents and illustrating the stages of the Great Patriotic War and the celebration of Victory Day in Belarus in different years.
