About the presentation of the exhibition exposition on the history of the Brest region

From April 7 to April 14, 2025, the State Archives of the Brest Region held a presentation of the permanent documentary exhibition exposition, organized in the building of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, for all structural divisions of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

About 200 archival documents, photographs, newspaper articles are presented on 23 display cases, reflecting the main milestones in the development of the Brest region and significant events in its history. Each showcase is dedicated to a certain period in the history of the region (September 1939 – June 1941, the period of the Nazi occupation, the genocide of the civilian population of the Brest region during the war, the resumption of peaceful life in 1944-1949, the development of the region in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980-1991, the period of the sovereign Republic of Belarus since 1991).

Director of the archive Anna Karapuzova acquainted the guests with archival documents reflecting the history of the Brest region, its socio-economic development, administrative and territorial changes, statistics of the region’s population in different years, etc.

In total, the exhibition was visited by representatives of 28 structural divisions of the Brest Regional Executive Committee (over 350 people).
